Eurochocolate
Eurochocolate is an annual event dedicated to the culture of chocolate. It consists of a series of events that take place in Perugia in October every year.
It is therefore an event whichattractsmany touristsandchocolate producers, both artisanal and industrial, they sell their productsin the historical centerof the city in equipped exhibition spaces. During the performance a lot of exhibitions and cultural ventures take place, these, also thanks to tasting itineraries, give new life to the streets, squares and places of Perugia’s historical center.
Among the moltitude of dates the most important is the one dedicated to chocolate sculptures, during which expert sculptors work cube-shaped blocks of chocolate in order to obtain real works of art that remain on display for all the duration of the event. There is also a special section named “Eurochocolate World” that gives voice to all the countries of the world which produce cocoa and which present in the rooms of the ancient Rocca Paolina their typical products, their customs and traditions.
The event enjoys the patronage of the national government’s ministries and of the International Cocoa Organization, the latter is the leading global organization of cocoa producers
situated in London.
Eurochocolate is the kermesse that since 1993, every year, revives in Perugia the chocolate-making tradition of the famous Perugina company. It is known in Italy and throughout the world for its “Baci”, the pralines still produced in the historical “Perugina” factory just situated in Perugia.
Eurochocolate is the largest event dedicated to chocolate in Europe. It is a performance whose delights ensure delicacies to adults and children who walk dirty of chocolate through the medieval streets of Perugia, named for no coincidence, the city of chocolate.
